Recently Controller Of Examinations CBSE released a Circular to All the Head Of Institutions Affiliated to CBSE about Death Certificate Of Parents in case of their Loss & Standard Operating Procedures For Dealing the Students with Low Attendance Percentage that Was Prescribed by the Board. In case of loss of their Father/mother or Such incident that lead to the absence of the Student from the School. Many Students are taking Long leave citing the Loss of their Parents and Skipping Classes for so long. According to the Circular, The Students must provide Parent’s Death Certificate to the School if Such Loss Occurs and also need to submit Medical Certificate for their Long absence.

By this action, CBSE tries to make strict action against the Students Who are taking long leaves without a valid reason and want to regularise them with such action.

The Circular Further States that Students, Schools not following Examination Bye- Rules 13,14  and not Submitting the relevant documents regarding Attendance.

Schools are also not providing details about the student`s Shortage of attendance. Students are not attending the Classes regularly and not providing necessary documents about their absence. As per the analysis by CBSE Students Whose absence had been Condoned had performed Poorly in their examinations 2019.

So CBSE asked Schools to take actions regarding Shortage of attendance. Schools are asked to teach the importance of attendance in starting  Session to Students and Parents and to follow the Rules Strictly. If a student has any Shortage  Of attendance school must get necessary documents regarding their absence and submit to Regional Offices in case it has to be condoned by the Board. January 7 is the last date for sending the Cases to the Regional offices.No case will be registered after January 7. Cases without necessary Mandatory Documents will also be summarily rejected.

All the schools are directed to follow these rules strictly and comply with SOPs Schools have to provide necessary documents regarding attendance of the Students whenever it is asked by the Board.

Rule 13 of the Examination Bye-Laws of the Board Specifies the Attendance requirements for a student to be eligible to appear for the Class X AND XII examinations of the CBSE”

Rule 14 of the Examination Bye-Laws states that Percentage of attendance up to which it can be considered for Condonation and grounds for Consideration”
